The ‘virtual’ School of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is based at the KSS Deanery Headquarters in London Bridge.

The School is led by the Head of School, supported by one Training Programme Director and includes the RCOG College Tutor at each training site, academic, educational and trainee representation.  The School is administered by the Medical Workforce Officer and Assistant.

The School has been structured to ensure training within KSS is delivered in line with the RCOG and the Deanery’s expectations, to quality assure training and to equip Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainees with the necessary skills to successfully progress through to higher training. The School meets as a group every two months to agree strategic and planning functions, make operational decisions and to ensure the smooth-running of training in the region.

Each Hospital Trust has a Local Faculty Group led by the RCOG College Tutor responsible for local planning and support of Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainees and this feeds into the overarching Local Academic Board at the Trust level.
