STC Trainee Representative
Alison Ogilvie is the newly appointed Specialty Training Committee (STC) Trainee Representative.
The role of the STC Trainee Represetative is to gather feedback from all KSS Deanery Emergency Medicine ST4-6 Trainees, attend the four STC meetings a year and raise any notable practice or issues. The points will then be discussed by the STC and the Trainee Representative must then feedback any actions to be taken to the trainee group.

Your Employment
The KSS Deanery is not your employer. StRs should be offered a contract by their employer (Hospital Trust) at the start of each post. The terms and conditions of employment are set by the employer and should take account of nationally agreed terms and conditions. Even if the StR moves between several different employers in the course of their training programme, their employment in the NHS is considered continuous when calculating statutory entitlements. StRs should be aware that pay and conditions can vary from one post to another and they should take account of this when considering taking on financial commitments.
We hope that all our new trainees enjoy their time in KSS, that following training they will settle into Emergency Medicine somewhere in Kent Surrey or Sussex and that they find their chosen career a fulfilling one.
