Next Interim Reviews will be held in February 2012 for all 2011-2012 Core Trainees.
Your interim review is a formal face-to-face interview where a panel, including at least one of the Core Programme Directors, will review all the evidence in your portfolio or RCOA e-portfolio to ascertain your progress. If you do not have good evidence of competencies, including the minimum numbers of assessments, the School will investigate the situation with your local anaesthetic faculty and you will be asked to attend a face-to-face ARCP in June 2012 for CT2 trainees or in July 2012 for CT1 trainees.

Important information:
For a successful Interim Review
CT1 trainees will be expected to produce the Initial Assessment of Competency (IAC) plus the appropriate module sign-offs set out in the 2010 curriculum. For example, you may have completed your ICM Multi-source Feedback (if you have completed the module) so please bring the Summary to your Interim Review. You will need to look through your e-portfolio and our Core Trainee Guide for more detailed advice (or the RCoA website). You will be expected to have 25% of the core curriculum and have the evidence to support this both in terms of assessments and your log book. The RCOA are creating an e-portfolio (in preparation of the next core training start date on 3rd August 2011), and your e-portfolio account will be checked by the panel.
CT2 Trainees should note the following:
This year you will still be using the Core Trainee Portfolio issued to you in August 2010. Your Core Training Portfolio will be check by the Interim Review Panel.
Please note - If your Interim Review is successful there will be no need to attend a face-to-face ARCP but you will need to send in your Educational Supervisor's Structured Report and any other documentation the School deems necessary in your particular case to gain an ARCP outcome.
Interim Review Process for Core Trainees appointed on 3rd August 2011
Every Core trainee (including KSS Anaesthetic LAT trainees) will receive an email from the deanery email: anaesthetics@kssdeanery.ac.uk stating time/date/postgraduate medical centre venue of your review which you should reply to immediately confirming your attendance.
You will be expected to attend at least 10 minutes before your time slot at your local trust site to complete a Trainee Feedback Form.
The Panel will complete an Interim Review Form with you; which the Chair and you will sign to document the meeting. You will be given a copy of the Interim Review Form and informed whether you will be invited to attend your ARCP.
To assist the Review process, you are required to make sure the following documents are in your e-portfolio or training portfolio:
