The KSS Acute Medicine training programme is based at the KSS Deanery Headquarters, London Bridge.

The specialty is led by the Head of School, Dr Graeme Dewhurst, and supported by the Training Programme Director, Dr Roger Duckitt and STC Chair Dr Simon Murphy. In addition there are RCP College Tutors at each training site, along with educational and trainee representation.  The specialty is administered by a Medical Workforce Project Officer, Medical Workforce Project Assistant, and Medical Workforce Administrator.

The Acute Medicine programme within KSS has been structured to ensure training is delivered in line with the RCP and the Deanery’s expectations. It also aims to quality assure training and equip medical trainees with the necessary skills to successfully progress through higher medical training and obtain a CCT. There is an elected Specialty Training Committee which meets as a group every three months to agree strategic and planning functions, make operational decisions and to ensure the smooth-running of training in the region.

Each Hospital Trust has a Medical Faculty Group for local planning and support of trainees and this feeds into the overarching Local Academic Board.
